Calm is the Sea
Given the origin and development of the Queen's Island Victoria Male Voice Choir, it would have been strange indeed if the title piece of these recordings had not been associated with the great maritime tradition of Belfast. This beautiful and tranquil arrangement of "Calm is the Sea" has been performed by Male Voice Choirs around the world. In April 1912 the ill fated Titanic sank in a calm sea with the loss of over 1500 lives. That tragedy is part of our tradition and the choir, ever mindful of that event, sings with fitting reverence of the sea in its many moods. This selection of mainly sacred pieces is one, which we hope will bring you many hours of enjoyment.
